Extension of Chinese New Year Holidays
- In view of an increase in the number of confirmed and suspected Novel Coronavirus infection cases, the Education Bureau announced that all schools including kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and special schools will extend their Chinese New Year holidays to March 1 to safeguard student’s health on January 31 (i.e. class resumption on March 2).
- The Education Bureau advises parents and children who have travelled abroad or visited Mainland China during the Chinese New Year holidays should return to Hong Kong as soon as possible. As the virus has an incubation period, parents and students need to return to Hong Kong according to the originally scheduled holiday and stay at home (self-isolate for 14 days for health reason), closely monitor their health condition and seek medical consultation if feel unwell as soon as possible. (Patients should be honest and inform the doctor if they have travelled abroad and visited Mainland China.)
