The Education Bureau’s Announcement on
Deferral of Class Resumption for All Schools
In view of the latest situation of the epidemic, on 13 February 2020, the Education Bureau (EDB) announced that all schools (including kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, and private schools offering non-formal curriculum) would further defer class resumption for two weeks, that is, schools would resume their class on 16 March 2020 the earliest.
Strengthen Preventive Measures
The EDB strongly appeal to students to avoid going to crowded places, and cease joining group activities (such as interest class, tutorial classes, etc.) in order to reduce the risk of being infected.
In order to reduce the flow of people going out, there is no urgency for students staying in the Mainland or other regions/ countries to return to Hong Kong. For students staying in Hong Kong, they should stay at home and do not leave Hong Kong. They have to set up the preventive measures, pay close attention to their health condition and consult a doctor if feeling unwell.
During the deferral of class resumption, schools remain open and should properly arrange staffs to be on duty to take care of students who have to go back to school for lack of carer at home and handle school affairs. At the same time, schools should strength cleansing of their premises.
